Here’s mine:

Since I haven’t posted any worth reading lately, I decided to dedicate this one to my father. He’s almost 65 but he doesn’t look like one. (Actually I’m older than him if you’ll base his age to his real birthday which is February 29.) His name is Zosimo and most of his friends call him “Simo.” In our family, we call him “Tatay” rather than the usual “daddy” or “papa.”
He’s a goofy dad. He could even pull a very old joke and make the whole neighborhood laugh. He is like a friend to us though our generations have a very huge gap, he could still perfectly cope with it. He is so strict that sometimes his rules are pointless. When we don’t obey his commands he will always tell us, “Ako ang hari sa pamamahay na ito kaya ako dapat ang masusunod. Ako ang tatay, ako ang boss (I’m the king of this household so you must obey my rules. I’m the father, I’m the boss)” in a somewhat yelling manner. And we would always reply with “Yeah right. You’re the king - KingKong!”
Every father has his own flaws and thank goodness my mother is always there to correct or to fill the things he is missing. I’m very grateful that God has given us a very understanding and loving father. I would always cherish the times we would take goofy pictures and his jokes would never be forgotten.
Lately he’s been telling us that he’s getting older and sooner or later he would eventually leave us. I’m not yet ready about that so I’m praying very hard that God would continuously give him good health and longer life.
I know I rarely tell you this, “I love you Tay!” :)
